Our standard of living is largely based on progress in technology and our future will consequently be strongly influenced by this. For more than 30 years the Johannes Kepler University has offered teaching and research in technical disciplines and thus plays an active role in the formation of our future. The activities of the Faculty of Sciences and Engineering are on the one hand characterized by international research and development cooperation, and on the other hand by their application to business and industry.
Many problems in business and industry can be solved through scientific methods and innovative solutions. Consequently the faculty makes important contributions to the success of Upper Austria as a business location. The scientific merits are reflected in a high number of publications, research assignments, FWF and EU projects, specific research fields and dissertations. The establishment of Competence Centers, Christian Doppler laboratories and spin-off companies makes the Faculty of Sciences and Engineering an internationally valued partner for technologically orientated companies.
