The Studies and Examination Department will send you the notice of admission as soon as all requirements are met. You can be admitted as a regular student, or - if supplementary examinations are required - as a non-regular student.
You will have to complete an online form in order to be officially enrolled at the university. You will receive your student ID number (Matrikelnummer) as soon as you have completed the online form. This number enables you to register for classes online.
Once arrived in Linz, you have to enrol in person at the Studies and Examination Department.
You need to submit the following documents:
- Passport / with an appropriate visa or residence permit (if applicable).
- Admission letter
- student ID number (printout from "online-Zulassung")
- austrian social security number (if applicable)
Afterwards you will receive your student ID card (Kepler card) and an e-mail adress. Important information about studying at JKU will be sent to this e-mail adress.
Some days after your enrolment you get an e-mail including information about the payment of the tuition fee.
You can pay the tuition fee with your Kepler Card (integrated Quick-Chip) or with the EC card at the Service Points (Please note: Payment per EC card or Quick-Chip is limited to € 400,-! Higher fees can only be paid per telebanking, e-banking or money order). After payment you can normally print out the "Studienbestätigung" immediatly.
You can also pay the tuition fee per telebanking, e-banking or per money order. In this case you can print out the "Studienbestätigung" and the "Studienblatt" after three days at the Service Point.
Important:
The student union fee is obligatory. Enrolment is valid only after payment!
